The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is lifted with graphite and pencil shavings, compact blackcurrant, and dried tobacco leaf. It has powerful mountain structure, with black plum skin, a bit of gamey iron richness, and dried herbs. Capture Wines represents the marriage of time-honored Bordeaux winemaking with the intense fruit character of our organically farmed mountain estate. Renowned winemaking team May-Britt and Denis Malbec, formerly of Chateau Latour in Bordeaux, create wines to bring out the rich personality of the terroir.

Established in 2008, Captûre is inspired by California’s frontier spirit while staying true to time-honored French winemaking traditions. Our origins are rooted in the far reaches of the Mayacamas Mountains, seeking out remote high-elevation vineyards in Sonoma and Lake Counties, always pushing toward the next peak. One of the highest growing appellations in California as well as the smallest, Pine Mountain incidentally extends into both Sonoma and Mendocino counties. Its vineyards range from 1,600 to about 3,000 feet in elevation at the top of Pine Mountain.
