  • Certified Organic!

Produced from 100% old vine Merlot, powerful and dense, this is bold wine with solid tannins. Bitter chocolate and a ripe structure are concentrated, freshened by acidity and a touch of black-currant fruitiness.

Soil: Sandy-silt and clay-sand, subsoil composed of Fronsadais molasses covered with carbonate sands and clays. Château Faizeau is certified HVE3 (High Environmental Value Leve! 3) since the 2019 vintage.

  • Château Faizeau is a wine estate based in the northern section of the Montagne-Saint-Emilion wine region of northeastern Bordeaux.
  • The estate boasts 11 hectares (27 acres) of vineyard on sandy clay-limestone soils and is planted primarily to the regional workhorse, Merlot, although there is a tiny portion (around three percent) of Cabernet Franc.
  • These proportions are broadly reflected in the final wine. Grapes are hand-harvested prior to fermentation and aging in French oak barrels for between 18 and 24 months. The wines are made in conjunction with the Michel Rolland winemaking consultancy firm.
  • The estate forms part of the Terres Bordelaises company – a portfolio of Bordeaux wine estates headquartered at Château Bastor Lamontagne and owned by the Helfrich family and their main operation, the gigantic Les Grands Chais de France winery. The latter produces – among other labels – the global JP Chenet brand and is based in northeastern France
