Marie de Beauregard Chinon is a beautiful garnet color with purple reflections. The nose is fruity with aromas of blackberry and cassis, perfectly blended with woody notes. The palate is well balanced with silky tannins elegantly bearing notes of stewed sweet spices, highlighted with a hint of vanilla. Drink from 2021.
- The terroirs of Chinon are gravel-sand, clay-sand, and rich in what the locals describe as "tuffeau jaune,“ a yellowish rock made from a combination of sand and fossils over 90 million years ago. It is highly porous, absorbing water rapidly but disseminating it slowly, which is ideal for high-quality viticulture.
- Saget La Perrière signature brands epitomize the hallmark accessibility and freshness of Loire wines. Our wines embrace a unique showcase range of Loire appellations; from its original home in Pouilly sur Loire to Sancerre, Chinon, Vouvray, Anjou & Muscadet forming an unprecedented collection across the Loire Valley.
- The name “Marie de Beauregard” is a homage to the wife of the first owner of the water mill where the wines are aged. Quality and respect for nature have always been the philosophy of Vignobles Guy Saget. Brought up in the vineyards, the Saget brothers, Jean-Louis and Christian, learned from a very young age to love and respect the soil. Vignobles Guy Saget sources two-thirds of the production in the Loire Valley from their estates with the remainder from long-term relationships with families of wine growers. This Chinon wine is the result of the vinification of a unique grape variety called Cabernet Franc and was selected by 2 producers whose wine areas are located at the confluence of the Vienne and the Veron, a favorite gathering spot for Graves and Perruches. The wine growers generously reserve several prime plots for us each year.
