Grown on our beloved “Block 6” - an eastern-facing, sloped block of White Rabbit Vineyard - our Merlot presents an inviting nose of spiced red berries, mocha, cloves, wet earth, black currant, loam, and lilacs, leading into a luscious palate brimming with juicy plums, blackberries, chocolate-covered cherries, crushed rock, and vanilla cream. Secondary notes of underbrush, baking spice, boysenberry, and sandalwood evolve with time in the glass, all wrapped in a thin veil of crimson acidity and backed by soft tannins. Our Merlot exudes the personality of this noble, varietally pure mountain wine.
 
5% of sales will be donated to the Northstar Team Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to supporting the coaches and athletes of the Northstar Ski & Snowboard Program.
White Rabbit Vineyard
The journey of White Rabbit Vineyard is rooted in its owners’ collective love for Napa’s vineyards and the picturesque mountainous landscape. The group of four friends seized the opportunity to acquire this exceptional vineyard in January 2024. Drawing inspiration from fond memories of skiing Northstar’s snow-laden slopes together, along with the sense of humor that is the cornerstone of their friendship, the partners aptly named the vineyard after the “White Rabbit” ski run.
White Rabbit Vineyard stands as a testament to a shared passion for the art of winemaking embraced by its owners.
Nestled atop Atlas Peak, one of Napa’s most esteemed mountain AVAs, White Rabbit Vineyard was planted in 2004 exclusively with Clone 181 Merlot grapes.
The vineyard is 12.5 acres of 100% Merlot and was planted in 2005. It’s in a remote location at 2,000 feet elevation near the top of Atlas Peak in Napa. It produces some incredible, robust, mountain Merlot. We sell the fruit to Duckhorn, Pine Ridge, Pride and Reverie II. And we're lucky enough that Grant Long (who is one of our partners on the property and owns Reverie II and Aonair wineries) sets aside some of the fruit from our favorite "Block 6" to make our own very small production wine - White Rabbit Merlot. 
We’re hoping that White Rabbit Vineyard Merlot resonates with the Northstar community and becomes something truly special (with an “exclusive”/close knit feel) for the true Northstar die hards to enjoy.
