Ruby-red color in the glass. Textbook Pinot Noir on the nose, with wild berries, cedar, tilled earth, button mushrooms, delicate florals, and citrus peel. The palate expands, offering black tea, woodsy herbs, cherry cola, fresh orange zest, and florals. The firm tannins give the wine ample structure without losing the graceful nature of the grape. Drink now–2032.

  • No one knows the Russian River Valley quite like the gang at Williams Selyem. This ultra-important Healdsburg winery- way back when- was the very first to create constituencies for Pinot Noirs made from now-iconic vineyards like Rochioli, Olivet Lane, Ferrington, Hirsch, Bacigalupi and Allen, even as they developed their own well-regarded estate vineyards all over the Sonoma Coast.
  • Sourced from diverse sites throughout the AVA, the wine represents the best of the Middle Reach, Green Valley, Santa Rosa Plain, and the Laguna Ridge area. Each site has its unique signature and together they offer a complete picture of the beauty of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
  • Williams Selyem Winery began as a simple dream of two friends, Ed Selyem and Burt Williams, who pursued weekend winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in a garage in Forestville, California, and made their first commercial vintage in 1981. In less than two decades, Burt and Ed created a cult-status winery of international acclaim. Together they set a new standard for Pinot Noir winemaking in the United States, aligning Sonoma County's Russian River Valley in the firmament of the best winegrowing regions of the world. Today John and Kathe Dyson, who purchased the winery from Burt and Ed in 1998, carry on the passion for Pinot Noir winemaking without compromise. As for the wines... they just keep getting better and better.
